What’s Missing? How to Realign Personal Goals and Identify Your True Purpose
Do you ever catch yourself at work staring blankly at the computer screen or the wall and wonder what is missing from your life? Whenever this happens it is because you are becoming less engaged in your work. For some of us, this could happen sooner than later. You might be wondering, well I’m at work and this is how it is until I retire. Ha! Retire. (I’ll save that insight about retirement for another time.)
Lack of motivation and employee engagement stems from several factors that could include troubles directly related to your work environment, your personal life, or even the world. Distractions are everywhere but the key to managing them is to investigate what these disruptions are telling us.
I am usually a highly productive person motivated by my passion for learning but lately, even I have taken some time every so often to pause and reflect on the current COVID-19 pandemic. I am paying close attention to the changes in daily routines, businesses, and how we function as a culture. As an Educational Consultant, my objective is to help people be their best selves. This is why I became a consultant. Sometimes, being your best self could involve needing advice to upskill, achieve a promotion, or make a career change. Other times mentoring conversations could encompass identifying strengths and weaknesses to find a better professional role or looking deep inside yourself to uncover your true purpose in life. Doing this helps identify what is missing in your daily routine and gives you a whole new purpose with inspiration to move that next mountain. My job is to help you find whatever will make and keep you happy.
What makes me unique? I am passionate about bridging the gap between higher education and workforce needs. In my free time, I am constantly researching formal education like degrees and certificates and reviewing industry certifications – across every profession that comes to mind. I am armed with knowledge about topics that pertain to my areas of expertise and others because I analyze the differences in learning structures, success rates in the field, and the challenges. I am truly the prime example of an “Educational” Consultant because I love education, learning, and teaching.
What are my areas of expertise? I have over 15 years of experience performing various project management types of roles in a manufacturing environment supporting engineers and operations. I also have 20 years of experience as a traditional student and in the online forum. Currently, I am leveraging my experience to identify prospective learners and their needs to design and deliver customized e-learning solutions. This works well with my role as an Educational Consultant because I guide my clients towards what they need and support their training goals as desired.
How may I help you? I can help you sift through the never-ending information to identify your goals and help you to achieve them no matter if they are large or small. All too often I have seen professionals striving for ways to upskill, achieve a promotion, or make a career change and the result either is not attained or does not meet their expectations. I practice a minimalist lifestyle which means I find happiness in relationships and experiences.
