Some people were privileged to be born knowing what they want to do in life. They have a linear path to learn and get a job . . . The rest of us are fortunate to be on a learning journey of continuous improvement and evolution.
My Story
I started my academic career studying criminal/social justice because I was focused on helping people overcome various personal issues that included substance abuse and domestic violence. My passions revolve around equality, equity, and expanded opportunities.
My objective was to help people achieve their personal goals.
After graduation, I obtained a job in manufacturing which led to new interests in organizational leadership, project management, supply chain management, and operations. I continued my studies to revolve around what I confirmed as meaningful to boost my work performance so I could deliver the best results for individuals and teams.
My objective was to help individuals and teams meet their professional goals.
Meanwhile, I realized the value of human performance improvement and discovered how I could leverage my skills to motivate and support individuals and teams by learning how to design, develop, deliver, and evaluate learning material. This led me to study learning design, educational technology, information technology, and user experience design. I combined all of my experience and currently have the opportunity to help individuals meet their personal and professional goals and support teams so they could deliver results.
My objective is to help individuals and teams meet their goals.
What does all of this mean? Don’t limit yourself to a job title. The name of my role changed over the years but my passion never did. I was always helping others achieve their goals. Education is never a waste of time because each degree opened new doors so I could help people which enabled me to achieve my goal of doing meaningful work.
